wow. i have not updated in forever. so i just got back from spring break in nyc and nawlins. i will post pictures online soon. it wasn't nearly as crazy as it could have been. after all, we did miss mardi gras by a whole month or so. only once did we get directly propositioned ("asian titties!"). all other times, it was the once over with some polite southern comment along the lines of "good afternoon miss." something about a group of asian girls in the south that gets em everytime. went avec friends tortor lo, STELLAAAA! yu + michelle ricely liu. i think i also gained ten pounds from eating and eating and eating. alas back to wellesley. pan asian culture show this friday. i don't think i'll ever be involved with it again. too many culture shows and not enough time for work. this will be my third year, same with chinese culture show. i am also performing the dance i did for chinese culture show for bentley's and possibly brandeis' too next week 0_O no time for homework. oh yea i'm interning in shanghai this summer. that should be fun. very excited. my friend tim got married last weekend. my brother sent me a cd today. it was very sweet of him. it's of the taiwanese group FIR. on it, he put a label (made with label machine) that says: "open with care young grasshopper" my bro is awwesome : ) i updated my giant robot subscription. if you have no idea what that is, then shame on you. nono, no need to feel guilty. just go out and purchase one -- you will not regret it. besides, they probably really need money from magazine sales anyway. we wouldn't want them to fold over. trust me. what else is new? i don't know. comment/message me about you. it always seems like everytime i update, it's a mouthful of stuff because i don't do it too often. but then i get tired and feel like a blabbermouth. enough about moi.

writing a new entry after nearly half a year is an awkward thing to do. it's like going out for coffee with a friend you haven't seen in a few years. what are you supposed to talk about? you can't possibly tell them EVERYTHING. yet, even of the highlights, which do you choose, and does it really matter? it's all just verbal fodder anyway. in one ear and out the other. so hello. i was in sf for the summer. that was fun. i would post pictures but apparently my picture-posting privileges have been suspended. i worked four different jobs and ran around town, bumping into everyone from wellesley classmates who reside in other countries but happen to be interning in sf to connie chung. that's right, (or wrong... if you paid attention to the previous sentence, you would realize that i didn't see her in sf -- but in...) when i went to dc for UNITY (journalist of color convention held every five years with 8,000+ participants) i attended the AAJA (asian american journalist association) banquet at which the lovely (infamous) cchung spoke and as i was coming back from the restroom during dinner, weaving through the tables and trying to be inconspicuous as not to divert attention away from the speakers, i bumped into cchung and lisa ling on the way to the bathroom themselves. i said: "you're not leaving, are you?" to which she responded: "oh no!" quite loudly and causing a momentary stir. afterwards the two were off to the restroom and didn't return for like 45 minutes, undoubtedly held hostage by the mob of women-folk in and around the restroom at the same time as they.

i moved back to school two weekends ago. unpacking and moving into my new room was a really horrible experience. i have way too much stuff and need to get rid of as much as possible. on the flip side, my new dorm is growing on me. i also like my classes -- though i always want to take more/different ones so every semester is like a compromise. this semester i'm taking: int'l law, int'l relations in east asia, philosophy of language, and vladimir nabokov (taught in english). my writing is incoherent and my contacts are dry.

btw! i got soft lenses so i no longer need to suffer through hard ones and fend off constant comments of the: "so, did you smoke up again" <moronic teenage boy snicker hahaha> variety.

visit boston, visit me!

more updates to come... maybe... ok don't hold your breath.

yesterday was RA Appreciation Day and I received quite a few **surprises** as in, I COMPLETELY DID NOT EXPECT ANY OF IT AT ALL. Among them: Fuji apples + other good stuff from mom, notes and cards from family and friends who live all over the place, a goodie bag from my RD, AND a Newberry Comic gift certificate. It totally made my day ~ still smiling

My RD also announced her engagement yesterday! YAY! that means we get a house dad! whoohoo

my current room: a lala land of flowers, floating balloons, pictures on walls, elevated bed+sheets, and sea of clothing for sale.

YURI KOCHIYAMA IS COMING ON SUNDAY. I watched the documentary on her tonight. F-ing inspiring. random clips come to mind: the Puerto Rican flag draped across the statue of liberty + her getting arrested for it, Malcolm X posing with the Japanese journalists + the postcards to Yuri, Yuri in those glasses, the megaphone and bandana as a headwrap - almost reminded me of Erykah ~ perhaps, from another time, in another form. She even lost two kids to the struggle. I can't wait till we pick her up from the hotel.

tasks for the day: go to the post office, buy some cheddar, attend classes, dress rehearsal.
